Interesting...

I'm testing out my pair of GTX780s (at about 1150Mhz). In the Heaven 4.0 benchmark they're right about where I would expect them to be (~2700 points). However on this benchmark they're a good few hundred points behind the curve... I'm getting ~4200 when I would expect to be around 4700.

Is this benchmark particularly CPU limited? I'm running an old i7-930 at 3.8Ghz right now so that could explain the discrepancy. Also, whenever a scene changes my framerate tanks down to the mid-40s for a short while (while the screen is black), before coming back to ~100fps when the scene is active. Is this the same for everyone? I'm assuming it's loading the scene into memory, but it really drags down the framerate. Is there some form of pre-caching available?

It is very dependant on CPU as well Duff. If I run my 3930K @ stock, the scores are well down compared to running it at 5Ghz, with the same GPU clocks.

Agree with Greg, this bench needs all the CPU muscle you can muster when running high end cards. My 780's not scaling as well as my 7970's did for this very reason. I noticed my GPU utilisation on both cards was down at 60% on one of the scenes towards the end, this was with a i7 [email protected]

Yes the CPU really holds back multiple GPU setups.

My Titans score almost the same @1080p as they do @1600p

If you run at high resolutions you will get much better GPU scaling.

Thanks guys - I'll have a proper crack at it over the weekend then, with a shiny new 4770k

That reminds me - I need to do a few gaming benchmarks before I upgrade. It'll be good to see the difference from the i7 930. The average framerates probably won't be too different in most games, but it would be nice to see if some minimums are smoothed out etc. Have to see what gaming benchmarks I can get hold of.

Hi, well did a quick benchmark yesterday Sunday and l said l would come back with a better overclock. Got up checked e-mail's had a cuppa to steady the nerve's as the old girl has not been benched and overclocked quite so high. So rebooted and entered the Bios set CPU volts to 1.43v at 210x12 = 4.410ghz - memory stay's at 9-9-9-2-1 increased volt's to 1.64v and QPI/VTT VOLTAGE to 1.4125v. Well to my surprise the old girl booted straight into window's no with no problem's and so l benchmarked the following -

SuperPi: 23m, 3DmarkII, 3Dmark:Firestrike, Unigine Heaven Valley, result's below -

Unigine Heaven Valley -

ULTRA - FPS: 30.8 / Score: 1288 / Min FPS: 15.1 / Max FPS: 55.6

Sorry its not on the first screen, i had to alt tab out and setup screenshot in afterburner and im on a fresh install of drivers + oc apps.

Thanks for the above, I don't think there would be a lot in it if I ran my cards at the same clocks.
