My ASUS and MSI orders arrived just now - so "phil" made it through.
A touch disappointed in the lack of cables/adaptors included compared to my "day1" HD7970's - only molex to 6/8 pin included - no hdmi/dp/dvi/vga anything at all.
No golden tickets either so I'll sort that out in the way requested.

Give the yanks some time to get into the office - its only 6am in California - though I'm a touch surprised none of the reviewers have posted them - unless AMD asked them not to with a promise that official ones would be posted by today.

That's because there was a small bug that showed itself at 4k res on the reviewer drivers. AMD were notified of it and have been able to reproduce it and said it will be fixed in the drivers coming today. I read this on one of the review sites, can't remember which one it was though.
Yes, I remember Anandtech saying there was some 4K problem, missed the bits about rework. I'd just release R5 and push the other thing to R6 for the number of 4K people out there. It was here - http://anandtech.com/show/7457/the-radeon-r9-290x-review/7 - they also said there were xfire issues on golden-fingers-cards.

So not a huge leap at the moment but lets see what overclocking brings. I've got an EK block on pre-order. Also, new drivers out later.
Some throttling noticed at 93-94c. Adjusted fan profile and it stopped throttling. Not that noisy.

I reckon it's whatever naff drivers are on the CD.
