CPU clockspeed is very important in this bench. If you use 3 or more cards you are going to get a CPU bottleneck however fast you clock it.

Do you really think that would account for the difference between our scores though, even with just a single 7990? I did disable Hyper Threading and run at 5ghz but that was it.

Hyperthreading makes no difference on this or Heaven 4 (apart from making extra work for the CPU). Your CPU clock for clock is a bit more efficient than a 920 plus the higher overclock will make some difference.

I have run a GTX 690 on an i7 975 and i7 980 but that was with them overclocked to about 4.3ghz but not on this bench.

To get a good run out of Valley without a CPU bottleneck (even @5.0ghz) on three cards you really need to use 1440p or higher.

Yep sorry just realised it was on the screenshot. :D :o

I don't think that would account for more than a few points tbh, but i guess you never know.

Believe it or not, my 930 D0 throttles my GPU @ 3.8Ghz, no kidding. its up and down between 96 and 99%.

They are a fast CPU, they still destroy the new i5's in FP work. at 3.8Ghz i'm scoring 8'000 Physics in 3DMark11 and just short of 10'000 in FireStrike Physics, thats way over a 4.6Ghz Haswell i5 and not far from a well clocked Haswell i7.

WoT and all those sort of fast CPU dependant games the performance is excellent.

So i don't get it to be honest.
