Is CPU clock so essential in Valley or heaven? I do need to bring it up as high as possible anyway. Between that and the high ambient (girlfriend won't allow anything too low on the thermostat while she is in), it is hurting my scores. Managed a 140.5 on Valley a little while back though.

On Valley the CPU clockspeed really helps, to give you an idea of the bottleneck there, I score the same using 4 Titan's at both 1080p and 1600p. This is why all the 3 and 4 card scores @1080p are rubbish.

On the Heaven 4 bench CPU clockspeed also helps but it is nothing like as bad a bottleneck as it is on Valley using Multi GPU setups.

The two Titan's 8 Pack used for this bench were just ordinary air cooled ones, what made the difference was his CPU was running at about 5.6ghz.

Ok tomorrow I try the the most out of my CPU before fiddling more with the GPUs. Hope I didn't get a dud.

Going by your core clocks I don't think you got a dud.

Once you have got your CPU speed up you may find you will have to drop the GPU clocks a tiny bit. This is because your cards will be working harder and not bouncing off a CPU bottleneck.

Thought id increase my cpu clock to try and get my score past 3000, i got a lower score at 5ghz than 4.5ghz.

To be honest though id put that down to the 290, the scores don't increase as much the more you push the card and id set it at 1200/1500 for the 5ghz run but it was at 1200/1400 or something for the 4.5 run. I seem to get negative gaines increasing the memory on this card past about 1400ish.

For single cards you don't get a bottleneck problem with Valley providing you are running a reasonable CPU overclock.

Did the gregster/skyn3t bios update. Massive improvement, mainly as the clockspeed remains stable during the run.
