Boosting to 1440Mhz

Disclaimer: I know nothing about Nvidia cards :)

Will the card stay at 1440MHz as long as the temps stay in check? I'm struggling to understand why the base clock isn't the boost clock if it's stable at the higher speed.

EDIT: £600 for the EVGA ACX 2.0?! You'd be better off getting the Zotac AMP! Extreme with a higher base clock and 5 year warranty for £20 more.

Anyone know if a backplate can be fitted after the block, or would I have to remove block before fitting backplate?

Just that won't have backplate initially and wouldn't want to take apart again.

Stick um in SLI and watch the boost drop . ACX 2.0 is the first AIB afaik that's out and available to purchase.

Boost takes into account , temps , power limits , usage etc so when all the parameters allow for boosting it will . Hit any one of those and the boost will drop , or keep dropping to base clocks to find a balance

I hated boost 1.0 , but 2.0 is relatively a decent idea for gamers , even if it is just glorified throttling .

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ Review @Hexus placed in OP

http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/83819-evga-geforce-gtx-980-ti-superclocked-acx-20/

Woop, glad I've stuck to my guns and waited for it.

The ONLY thing I don't like is the idle temps. And I don't fancy messing around with profiles so I won't how much extra heat that's going to leave floating around my case for my CPU to warm up...

Anyway, new ETA on OcUK which is a bit cheeky, ETA: 10/06/15... Thought it was even confirmed by EVGA rep that Friday is when the cards are expected? Bit naughty putting it earlier again to get more orders than competitors...

What price did you pay for it? I'm sure it wasn't £599 when the 980 Ti was launched.

Got my EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ *takes a deep breath* installed last night, and while I didnt have time to mess about with overclocking, the fans are VERY quiet, and on stock fan profile maxed out at 3440 x 1440 in GTA V it was in low 70's (dont remember the exact, i think 72C or so).

So definitely seems like worth the wait over the reference design.

More tests and OC'ing will have to wait till this weekend.

Ah one of the lucky few to get that card already, they're like gold dust at the moment

Nice to hear it's quiet and has low temps.

Although now the ETA has changed again to ETA: 26/06/15

The EVGA rep said that there will be a large shipment on Friday so I'm hoping that is still true
