I decided I should fiddle around with voltages to see what the max clocks I could get with max 90c temps on SLI 980ti ACX SC cards from EVGA. Somehow I managed 1575mhz core stable on both cards running games hahaha!!!

Got my EVGA 980Ti Superclocked ACX 2.0+ (the one without the backplate).

I have read reviews stating it gets anything from 68c - 76c at load. Yet mine is hitting 80c after only 5 minutes in Heaven 4.0 and 83c in W3.

Seems either these review sites are full of BS or my card is a having problems. Surely it should run much cooler than this? Thinking of RMA the thing to be honest.

Doesn't seem right tbh mate.
I have mine at 1400Mhz and it hit 77C after 1 hour of Witcher 3. At stock it hit 75C.

Do the review sites use a closed case or an open test bed?

Quite a few seem to use open test benches. I suspect the reason being that its easier to swap stuff out.

My Zotac GTX 980 Ti AMP & i7 4790K (stock) also got just under 15000 (can't remember the exact number). Probably about right I'd imagine as my GTX 780 scored under 9000 in 3DMark Firestrike in the same system.

Folks, question about this card and surround on my 980 TI, Im not able to get one of my 3 monitors to work.

Im using as follows:

Back of Monitor -> Back of GFX card
DVI -> DVI
HDMI -> HDMI
HDMI -> Displayport via active convertor

Not sure what Im doing wrong here, any advice appreciated.

my msi gaming i just got hits 80c in the witcher 3 after 5 mins and the fans are quite loud, a lot more than the 980 gaming i had..

Got G1 from shop. Traffic on M6 was nightmare today - total 5 hours of driving from Birmingham. Got zapped by sneaky laser speed van also, so probably +3 points on my license.

Worst of all - G1 card turned out to be too long to fit in my case!

I had (and still do) GTX 980 reference which fit just fine. WTF is going on with such long cards??? Now I have to wait until Skylake is released in August to get new PC.

is it set to a custom fan profile in MSI afterburner? if not it will get hotter as it will be set to stock speed which is about 91c = 100% fan speed. I have 2 MSI 980ti's in SLI and the top one is cooler than 80c 100% maxed out. It has been a very hot day aswell.

No i havnt touched the fan profile. Its just set at normal straight out the box.

Finally played some Witcher, after two days of benchmarking.
Don't know if it's placebo effect but everything seems smoother coming from 970s, glad I left SLI behind (wonder for how long).

Youll go insane if you continually concentrate on it. Ive gotten used to it. Tbh once fans spin up a bit you shouldn't be able to hear them.

Speaking of fans, do the fans ever turn on full blast on this thing?
