Can't be ignored and its way noisier than the fans. Fans are around 65% on auto with the card OC'd.

Not really. They get to 30% when the card is around 73 degrees.
The cooler is massive! Dead silent card. Glad I went for it even if I might never get to 1500Mhz ._.

I think I got it just over four years ago and to be honest the GTX 480 has been a great card for me and the first game I have found it to really struggle with was GTAV, and as the card I have just bought is about three weeks pay for me I am hoping I get a good four years out of that.

Quick question

Got the ZOTAC 980Ti AMP, but I can't get the sound from the HDMI to my LG TV.

My old 770 used to detect the sound output as LGTV without any issue but this new one can't see it.

How to fix?

Yeh definitely not putting up with this coil whine. Probably gonna RMA it tomorrow.

Edit: Wait nope it's the PSU. Rolled up a sheet of paper and went sound hunting. I'm so sorry for getting mad at you GTX 980 TI baby.

Nice tip m8! Can't hear any whine from mine (with Heaven nearly hitting 200fps) but that's a good idea to isolate the sound if I ever come across any

Was gonna say more often than not its not necessarily the GPU.

Out of interest didn't the PSU whine with your previous GPU?

Yes but not as much and only during menus on some games, never during gameplay. Now it whines all the time no matter what - even when I cap FPS to 30 it's still slightly noticeable.

Got mine today too

I had sound from the hdmi just fine (presume you have installed the drivers?), so I have no doubt you'll get there with yours. Got to 1428 on the core at stock volts, but an extra 25mv wasn't enough to get it to 1500 so I left it there for now. Still enough to get it within 6‰ of my xfire 290s at stock in firestrike, so very happy with it so far.

Thanks, as I suspected. I'm guessing I'm probably losing a few fps here and there due to my motherboard/CPU being pretty old now (z68/2700k).

Still, it doesn't explain some of the results that some reviews are showing. For example, the guy who did the review of the MSI 980ti on youtube has a significantly higher graphics score for firestrike, which shouldn't be affected by the CPU. I get the feeling, these guys play around with drivers or something, probably use the minimum graphics quality settings in the control panel. I always leave all my control panel settings at default.

I've got a Corsair HX620 which is an older PSU and it screams like crazy if I don't turn off C1E in the BIOS. Don't know if yours could be a similar issue.

Haven't tried changing any settings but mine is 6 years old and I just bought a Super Flower 850W PSU so this problem will be out of my hair soon
