Coming from a 6950 so quite a jump when running at 2650x1600.

Firestrike Extreme on both. Couldn't run Ultra on the old one! 4.8x more FPS in the combined test.

Heaven 4.0 scores for both too. Also 4.8x more FPS on average, 4.7x on Min and 4.8 on Max.

The Final Fantasy benchmark also reported a 4.7x gain in average fps.

Both my 2500k and my 980ti are running at stock speeds. My 2500k was fine at about 4.5 on air without much fiddling when I first got it and even managed a 5.0 SuperPi run so when I get time I'll aim for 4.5 again and try some more tests. My new case should arrive at the end of next month and then some custom WC will follow.

Very happy with things right out of the box though.

2500k at stock speed at that resolution seems like a bottleneck to me.

Almost certainly, but on a 6950 it probably wasn't making much difference.

Today I literally had enough time to run benches on the old card, swap and then run the new ones before I had to leave for a night shift so no time to play with anything else or even see how far the card was boosting on it's own.

Yes I think you'll score around ~1475 once the CPU is OC'd.

Ok, my bios was actually the latest one so cannot update any further, i installed the latest drivers (hotfix version) and still doesnt work although i didnt expect the drivers to make a different as i cannot see it in bios anyway. I have RMA'd the card back now so got the gigabyte 970 gaming back installed. One think i noticed, when i put the 970 back in to install the drivers and flash the bios (didnt need to), the 970 was quite toasty after maybe 3 minutes, when i install the 980ti (and i am getting no signal detected from the display), when i take it back out, its stone cold. The fans rotate and the windforce light comes on but just no signal is detected, i have tried reseating it 10 times now in different pci-e slots and even changed over the PSU PCI-E leads (modular corsair 850w) and also tried display ports and both DVI connectors and my monitor is just saying no signal detected. as soon as i put the 970 back in, it works first time. I have been upgrading PC's for over 20 years, (i think i had voodoo2's in SLI) But never had a dead gfx card before and pretty pi**** off about it as i paid £20 for next day saturday delivery (would like this refunding if possible) and now i am going to be waiting for ages to get the second card. As i have only had the card 12 hours, do i have to wait for it to be tested or will the send one out asap?

Yeah I've had to same issue with GTA5 with a pair of msi 980ti's gaming g6. I've also had a pair of 970's in my rig which had the same stutter and when i disabled sli it fixed it. So i guess its down to the sli profile in general.

I have a pair of MSI G6 980 ti's boosting 1392 out the box. Top cards running max temp of 80c after loads of heavy benching and the bottom card has hit 74c. Really pleased with these cards!:cool:

I've had a bit more of a play and got it to 1450 core with more voltage, much more and I get graphical glitching it seems no matter what I add in voltage.
