Just goes to show there isn't much to worry about :)

In some cases, though in the long run i can't see it being that good for the card, especially the heavier cards. There is the possibility i suppose of some pcb traces breaking if the pcb is stressed too much. The amp extreme sag in that 1 pic i posted is nuts.

Trust me, the sag on my 7970 was worse. It's still going fine.

Just finished overclocking my MSI Gaming card. Whilst it can overclock to 1524 (+170) on the core clock at stock voltages and show stable in Valley scoring 111.7 fps and 4674 points it unfortunately crashes in the regular games I play (BF4).

I'd rather show an honest stable overclock that works in everything instead of chasing scores in Valley just for epeen and being near the top of the leaderboards.

Therefore my stable overclock is
core clock: 1504 (+150) - throttles down to 1491 after 66-67 degrees c.
Memory: 2103 (+700). I may bring this down to (+600) 2053 depending on the benches I'm going to run tomorrow.

If anyone wants to know how the card performs with a NZXT G10 and H55 let me know as I will be fitting it on the weekend. I will take some temp measurements or whatever else you can suggest before and after it's fitted.

What kind of temps are you guys getting when gaming with 1450Mhz+?

And what fan speeds/fan curves are you using?

Just want to compare mine and see if it's running ok.

Mines 1474Mhz and temps reach 73-75 with BF4, 77 with Witcher 3 and 77 with Dying Light.

Fan speed around 75%-80%
70 is the maximum temp I'm seeing, 25 degrees in my room, stock fan curve (tops at 50/60). It better be like that for the three slots. (1485/1500 - 8010)
Early days yet :p

The tree screws should prevent anything crazy from happening.
Had ridicolous monsters like 8800 Ultra and 980x2, those looked scary without backplate.

Any chance people who haven't cashed in their Batman code might get MGS instead?:p

P.S. I don't see any crazy sagging even in the picture in the previous page. How many times we see new threads with people with broken motherboards? Exactly XD

My msi gaming is asic 79 and I've managed to overclock it to 1575 stable like what people have said the voltage wasn't making much difference I've only increased it by 15 all good

Mine are only 69% and max boost stable is a solid 1487/1978 without any artefacts or crashes for benching. You won the silicon lottery, I'm impressed! Where a ASIC thread when you need it? ;)

That's good mine is 70.3 and I can't get that clock in pcars without crashes. Pcars is known to hate overclocks. I guest 70.3 is just average.

I'm happy with the clocks but it sucks being in the 60-club.

Tested in nearly every game/benchmark I could as you do. 3D Mark 2013 was the only thing to crash practically straight away beyond those established stable clocks. Heaven was more forgiving but my case got very warm. Summer is a terrible time to push GPUs :D

Voltage and power limit was maxed then screen froze leaving Nvidia display driver to recover, took it from that the chips were limited to those clocks. Nothing more I can do to push towards 1500MHz, no want to even do that on stock cooler because heat in SLI could become an issue.

Anyone with a MSI 980 TI Gaming flashed their card here? Read on OCN modified BIOS's were too noisy and huge increase in heat (sometimes boosting was too high and crashed out), the ones I read about all flashed back.

I am looking at getting my Zotac Amp Extreme replaced due to some weird stuff going on with the power management.

Can someone recommend which of the Gigabyte Gaming G1 or the MSI Gaming would be best?

What volts? What is a monster clock on the memory btw

I considered it, but as a test I downclocked the memory as far as it would go to free up some tdp for the core, trying +200 instead of +170 and playing with adding mv just got me spangly patterns, so looks like 1535~ is my max overclock anyway

I purchased my MSI 980 Ti Gaming 6G a few weeks ago, and I completely forgot about the NVIDIA game bundle. I'm not sure what exactly I should get, is it Batman Arkham Knight or Metal Gear Solid V? I don't remember there being any game code inside my box. Do I have to provide a proof of purchase to NVIDIA or MSI to get any game code?
