Have a look at your Gpu power usage and core usage while in game, I had an issue a while back where it would only use like 50% power resulting in poor fps.

My SC's are at 1500mhz for gaming but that's with a 1.255v bios. Before that at 1.23 they would do about 1430-1440.

Witcher 3 for me is the poorest SLI profiled game. 70- 80% usage on gpu1 and 80-90 on gpu2. I've seen it drop to 90fps on occasion (still using 80% GPu usage -.-), ultra settings minus Hairworks.

Compare that with mad max I've been playing recently. Every setting on and maxed out at 120fps 1440p. Rock solid 120hz with a peak of about 80% on each GPU.

I thought I'd post these two graphs as I was playing with Batman AK on my single 980Ti. All settings on or high and I was simply switching between my 4K UHD 60Hz monitor and my recently bought Acer X34 100Hz. Not that I needed the 100 Hz necessarily as I tend to cap at 60 in most games anyway.

First is the X34 3440x1440

Next is the 4K UHD monitor 3860x2160

FPS is at the bottom and at 3440x1440 my 980Ti was maintaing 60fps pretty much all the time and of course with G-Sync was a very smooth experience. On the UHD monitor is was still smooth despite hovering around 50 fps mostly and was still a good experience despite not having the benefit of G-Sync. The main reason being there was no tearing or stuttering on my system.

Pertinent to a couple of previous posts the 1440 plot is averaging around 75% GPU load and as you can see the UHD plot is pretty much 100% all the time. Despite that though the EVGA AIO was able to keep temps at or just above 50 DegC.

Mine doesn't really respond to more voltage and does +153 on the core (around 1480mhz odd) and +300 mem, 110% power limit with volts at stock.

Guess it's luck of the draw, though you could try a bit of voltage and see what happens.

Got one for Witcher 3 too below. Same idea all settings on or high/max and at 3440x1440.

Main difference is that at 1440 res the GPU is being kept 100% busy and fps is just bobbling around 60fps but the G-Sync is making that basically imperceptible.

Just fyi, Spulse, voltage, at least the +87mV in Afterburner, doesn't really do much on 980Tis.

The Witcher 3 is notorious for not responding well to unstable GPU overclocks, the 1400/what I assume is 3800 on the memory, should be fine in most other games. I'd personally find whatever is stable for TW3 and run with it permanently.

I got my two MSI gaming 980 TI's today from overclockers and i only ordered them yesterday super service Overclockers yor the best.

Installed no problems and my default boost clocks is 1345 for both cards :cool:

Temps max top card 73, bottom card 69

ASIC Quality card one is 78.3
ASIC Quality card two is 72.8

Not done any overclocking yet as no need to ,i'm gaming at 2560x1440p on a BenQ XL2730Z 27" WQHD 144Hz and seen a nice performance boost over my two msi 780s they replaced

GTA V at last fully maxed out looks fantastic

cool thanks - i've found in other games that the fps at that res on ultra is between 80-100 which i'm more than happy with. I guess w3 is a bit of a hog and i'll have to dial back stuff to lock it at 60.

i'd rather not get into touching the voltage as I have an matx case so heat might be an issue, especially if I put another card in there in the future.

can't really complain though, it still looks unbelievable!

Spulse, if TW3 isn't hitting 60 FPS but other games (what games? TW3 is very hard to run in comparison to D3, etc.) are, you may want to use Afterburner/GPU-Z to see if you are hitting 99% GPU Utilisation & a stable core clock (give or take 13MHz due to thermal throttling), if you are then nothing's wrong and you'll need to tone back settings.

So later last night i started to overclock them a little and i found that i'm 100 % stable running @ 1430 boost with no added voltage i'm amazed by this

3hrs of GTA V @ 1430 boost clocks with default voltage temps remain the same. Happy days indeed

These cards absolutely smash my old 780s @ 1440p . I'm really happy with my purchase for once ,,,, Thanks Overclockers :cool:

Going by some reviews i doubt it'll be much better than a regular 980ti on air.

It's not but it is in the top 5% of them.

The card does massive clocks on stock volts 1565/2000 but does not like extra volts on air.

A regular 980 Ti won't boost that high on stock volts but the difference can be made up by upping the volts.

End result most GTX 980 Ti's get to about the same performance point but may arrive there in different ways.

Doubt asic has much to do with OC ability, as mine's 78.7% and is no golden clocker on air at least.

Having a really weird issue. Every time I make a video full screen (via browser) it is dropping the clocks on my card to 405mhz core, 810mhz memory.

This results in moving windows around each monitor lag a bit and it doesn't wake up when I start games.

Restarting my computer works.

This is only when DSR is enabled on my secondary screens.
