Hi all, I have had a survey done on a house which we should be exchanging contracts on soon, the survey has picked up a few things that I'm not particularly worried about as I think I will be able to do most of it myself, but the one job I don't think I'll do myself is the chimney stack - details below taken from survey.

The property has one chimney stack which is built in brick masonry.
The stack is eroded and will be in need of localised repointing before long to
prevent further decay and disrepair.
Condition Rating 2.

Anyone had any work like this done recently, how much did it cost or if you done it yourself how long did it take, I'm just trying to get a rough idea of cost. The chimney is on the apex of the house so I guess scaffolding will be needed.

Contact some local scaffolding companies for accurate prices, last time I hire scaffold to remove a chimney I think it was about £150.

That was front of house & including around the chimney, took two blokes a hour or so to erect.

Whole house £600- £800 might be slightly less again depends on area & firm.

I'd say a days work plus scaffolding say £250 plus the scaffold, wholly depends on access add another £250 for a simple access scaffold or you might be able to find someone willing to do it off roof ladders.
