Hello Everyone!
Long time surfer, first time poster
I'd like to start by thanking all the hardcore users of this forum for all the advice I have received over the last few years - seriously, you'd normally have to pay for such a service!
Right, below I have collated a list of parts I think would be more or less the best I could get for my money. To be honest, nowadays, I only really use my PC for casual surfing (albeit window heavy) and a fair bit of gaming (BF4 mainly at present). That said, I do tend to do a bit of 3D work on the side - mainly 3DS Max - though render times are not a primary issue as it is more to hone my techniques than to produce anything anywhere near commercial level.
Truth be told I have become distinctly disillusioned with the console market and thought I'd treat myself to a beast of a PC that will hold up for a significant amount of time, with OCing potential. I also wanted a tidy looking Machine, in keeping with a red and black theme so please, take a look below and see what you think. In terms of monitors, I am looking to replace my old 1080p acer with a 2560x1440 in the near future, but am currently running my old build with the acer as well as a 32" samsung 1080p tv
I would really appreciate even the slightest bit of criticism/advice, here goes;
Coolermaster HAF X Gaming Tower Case
Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI HERO Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor
Antec High Current Gamer 850W Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
MSI Radeon R9 290 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Corsair Hydro H100i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
Avexir Core Red Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17200C9 2133MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U21330904G-2CIR) - Red Light
Samsung 256GB SSD 840 PRO SATA 6Gb/s Basic
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache HDD
Note I have added a larger PSU to potentially accommodate a Crossfire setup in the near future
What do you think?
