What does "[6 Euro 4]" mean in car ads?

Just been browsing Autotrader - the mondeos have a 5 gear and a 6 gear version and I assume the [6] in the advert indicates that this is a 6 gear version.
Some of them, however, have [6 Euro 4] in the title and I have no idea what this means.

Can anyone shed any light?

Cheers

euro 4 is the emissions class, and thus the car tax rate you will be charged i think.

Not true. It's just a set of standards for emissions that manufacturers had to meet by a certain date - company car tax has a lot to do with Euro III and IV emissions standards but Road Fund License, whilst rated on C02 emissions, is not heavily dependant on Euro IV.
