I wouldn't go for the 290X, not worth the price difference from the 290 -> 290x for the performance difference.

+1 from someone that owns a 290, the difference between the pair is marginal at best, waste of extra cash tbh.

Would definitely fit a 4770k and a 290 into the build, loving the NZXT case too.

Next gen consoles are here now with 8GB onboard RAM, and 64 bit builds will soon be the norm for PC games. I'd be looking at 16GB frankly. EQ landmark is 64bit for instance.

I think it's still recognised that 8gb is more than enough for a decent gaming rig right now, most have 8gb and it works well for all. If it's not enough, could always add 8gb more?

8gb still seems more than enough to me, never came close to maxing out my ram usage when gaming, OP do you have any special requests for colour scheme?

I quite happily run 2+ games, many tabs in firefox, and countless other background programs at any given time - I've never seen my PC use more than 6gb RAM.
