DPD appointed new couriers for Overclockers UK.

As part of our commitment to constantly improve customer service I am delighted to announce that with immediate effect DPD are now the official courier of Overclockers UK.

DPD were selected because of their outstanding performance within the computer trade and in particular their reliability of service and enhanced parcel handling resulting in greatly reduced damage claims. I am happy to report that a number of our delivery options have reduced in price and for heavy consignments the reduction is substantial.

All UK and UK Offshore delivery options are now live with DPD International being added this morning.

Last October. When DHL were good they were good, but when they were bad ...

I'm confident DPD are the right choice for us and our customers.

Oh no.. that will be me looking for another retailer then... Things have been just fine the way they were... DHL was much better than CityLink...

Ive always liked shopping here, as for the most part, I can chose Royal Mail.. their depot is really close to me, and easy to collect from. All other couriers are out of town, and as I dont drive, it is very difficult to get to them...

Customers should have a choice, I dont mind paying a few quid extra to make things easy for me to collect or receive... It slamost just as annoying as couriers expecting you to be sat at home during the day waiting for a delivery.. like themselves, most of use work during these hours!!! Ive enven paid extra for Sat delviery, cos I know at the endo of the day, I will be there to collect, and it works out cheapter that trying to get to a deopt to collect an item...

I cant even find out where the OPD depot is, theres no information on their website, so if Im not in, where do I go to get it....

If this is now my only choice, then I may have to look elsewhere....

It does seem like RM may still be an option depending on what is ordered.. but Id still like to know where I have to go to collect from OPD...

Think that is a very good point Mekon, if the depot is too far its definately an issue. Even with a car. I have to admit ive never heard of them or seen one of their vans around. Doesnt fill one with confidence.....

In GD, its been posted that DPD is the new name for Parcelforce. So maybe that's true.

Must say I am very disappointed with this turn of events. As a long term purchaser along with several friends of mine here in Gibraltar I feel the service has taken a big step back for me.

DPD does not deliver to Gibraltar and I am not willing to purchase items to only be able to send via extremely expensive and poor parcelforce or for a couple of pounds less royal mail international service (which is also just as poor).

When I called OcUk the response basically was thats what there is which I respect but it doesnt feel very supportive towards dedicated and frequent customers.

I myself also admit that I have never heard of this courier company myself and seems to be limited only to Uk area. Could something be done for Gibraltar residents ? Who I remind you are also british citizens :p

Thank you for the response. I will keep an eye on it as I have another order pending in my basket at the moment. If I see a service become available I will add more things on and complete the checkout.

Once again thanks for the response !! :)

As an interim measure I have reduced the cost of Parcelforce Euro48 service to Gibraltar from £42 to £35 for a 30KG Parcel.

I hope this helps.

Once again thanks for your response and support. Unfortunately I would still rather wait for a better option. I still feel the price is quite high for the weight of the contents of my order I am sure does not come close to 30kgs (including packaging). This is also combined with the fact that it takes about a week or more for it to arrive in Gibraltar + I have to collect the packages myself at awkward working hours :(

So essentially its paying a lot more money for a much poorer and slower service.

But I will remain true to my OcUk Colours and be patient :)

Sorry OC.. looks like I will be shopping elsewhere if Royal Maill or Sat delivery is too expensive...

No good for me.. its further out than most couriers...

Not happy..

Wouldnt mind if couriers could call you when they are on route.. I work 15 mins from home, and could get back to receive items.. but they wont do this. They wont deliver to me work address either...

I wonder how much time and money is wasted by couriers trying to deliver when most people are at work..

Couriers make deliveries to delivery addresses. All possible enquiries indicate that DPD are amongst the best in the business at a price customers are prepared to pay.

Depots exist as distribution centres for delivery vans. Nothing more.

Have a look at their Superhub - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEgS3kAENjw

If you won't even give them a try (which after you have made 7 more posts will be free) then I'm sorry I can't help you.

Delivery prices appear to remain the same. Not sure how this is better for me as to a consumer, but to be fair I had no issues with neither CityLink nor DHL. If DPD is no worse than previous two I don't think I'd care who buzzes my door.

I may certainly try tem.... but anticipate the usual, of not being in when they deliver, then wondering how on earth Im going to get to Chnadlers Ford and wondering how mcuh more that will cost me...

I have a general rule if I cnat use Royal Mail, then I will shop elsewhere.. simple.. Unless of course, I actually have a day off work and nothing better to do than sit in all day...

Delivery prices appear to remain the same

If prices have remained the same for the consumer, then why change, unless of course it benefits yourselves more...

I thought maybe at least a Poll in the forum for members to be able to state if they have any issues with the existing courier, and even chose their preferred.. just to see what the general consensus was...

lol.. 6 more posts..!!!

Dont I already qualify...????
