About £70 in petrol but that isnt the actual cost as youve got to factor in the wear and tear of the car, tax, insurance ect.
Ohh also if its all done in one trip dont forget 2 stops at services for food at £15 and 1 stop at McDonald's £3.89 :)

Surely that's awful economy from such a small car? It only costs 10p per mile in most small cars. You sure the 280 per tank is actually the full 45 litres? I expect thats probably about 30 litres :)

yeah its untill the light goes on, so probably 30-35 litres. ive got 320 out of it before but i always fill up as soon as that light goes on.

problem really is its a city car and doing a constant 70mph @ 4000rpm does drain that fuel..... lol dam short gearing.

Your engine likes you better than mine! Even on the motor way at a steady speed i would maybe, just maybe see 400 miles. Although tank size is maybe different?

My tank is larger than yours - 70 litres - but if you set cruise to 70mph it can be done as its only an average of 36mpg :)

Well if I drove there at:
• 55mph It says I'd get 48.1 MPG
• 70mph it says I'd get 31.6 MPG...

I'd guess it will be about 20% less than that but with a new weber carb on it I'd get that I think! :D

Wit the air conditioning off and no fast driving I can get about 400 miles to a 50 quid tank of petrol. If the journey was entirely motorway I could probably see about 420 miles out of it. Id estimate about 55-60 pounds for a 550 mile journey, assuming all motorway at cruising speed.

Ford Focus 1.6 btw.

It cost me £80 to just about that mileage (two 50L(ish) tanks of fuel) with an average (;)) speed of about 70mph there and back on the M6, M4 etc.
