hmmm...i just dont like it. I tried one out 2 years ago and it just felt a bit plasticy.

Was thinking about trading in my 116SE and paying the extra for a 2 year old 120d. But then i decided on the Golf instead.

Is that a S3? Whats the engines like them?

Nope thats just a 3 door S-Line - available as various engines including a 200bhp 2.0T FSI and a 140bhp (And now 170bhp but not sure for £18k) 2.0 TDI.

That's an A3. In my opinion modern, read: <3yrs old, Audis are a much nicer place to be than modern BMWs for any length of time. OK, perhaps they're not the same 'drive' but for a car that spends its life on a motorway, does it matter?

hmmm...i really wanna go diesel. Doing so many mile these days.

Cars done 29500 but 18000 of that has been in the last 12 months.

Ive got the 116i SE for another few months anyway.

My other thought was a CHEAP second hand focus and then save my cash for a 320Ci

LMAO! What colour is the sky in your world? The Golf is a festival of cheap plastic next to the A3.

I will concede that, on the base trim level, the steering wheel and handbrake do feel rather "cheap and nasty", but then if the base spec is all you can afford you should be looking elsewhere tbh :)

I had a Mk4 150Bhp GTi diesel. 5dr with all the toys

Apart from when i cracked the oil sump on a speed bump (i was doing 60) it was the best car ive even owned.

After that i got the Cooper S which was fun but rattled like hell and was rubbish on the motorway.

The A3 is very plasticy

also got a golf tdi 150 gt. love this car.

I agree with this too, the 1 series is a sorry excuse for a BMW. I drove my friend's brand new 118 Sport and couldn't wait to get back into my 6 year old E39. Cheap interior, average performance and the hand brake felt it was about to come off in my hand every time.
