I hope you mean 1.5 to 2k. Even then you shouldn't be fully loading the engine below that rev range.

Check the air filter first, does it idle okay, and fault lights?
Could well be bad fuel. I think I trip to Shell and a full tank might be in order.

Coil pack?

Doubt its a coil pack as its an older model-

Could be dirty fuel, plugs or leads. Might also be worth removing the distributor cap and cleaning the contacts. Number 2/4 here

Apply hand brake, first gear, start to lift clutch. If it judders as the clutch starts to bite, start crying and go suffer a £1000 bill for a new DMF and Clutch.

LOL in a 1.4 petrol - No DMF and new clutch is about £250 - £300

Coil pack, Distributor cap, HT Leads, could be damp due to the recent weather - get a can of WD40 and spay these

Sounds like an ignition related issue to me. Does it go away when the car warms up? A change of plugs and/or leads might be in order

I'm going with this for now, the fuel is probably not coincidence, it's harder to ignite (higher octane maybe), and so has highlighted an existing ignition system issue.
