How are any ideals, other than tolerance, being forced on the owners?
That surely depends on the ideals of the people involved. Tolerance is a two way street, and tolerating someone's right to disapprove of behaviour is no different to tolerating that behaviour. Forcing someone to tolerate behaviour that makes them uncomfortable in as unnacceptable to me as a state ban on homosexuals in hotels...
There are still hotels that frown on unmarried heterosexual couples, or that don't allow children, because those are the desires of the owners, who frequently also live there.
Is this situation any different?
