Malwarebytes not free anymore

Just done an update and its updated to a trial version,

Anyone recommend something similar and free

I've just updated and the offer was a free trial of the full version. I declined, just carried on using the normal one as before.

I've done the same. Reject installing the newer trail version then update definitions from within Malwarebytes application itself. Seems to be working OK at the moment.

please not that this version of malwarebytes has start up entries (free version) which previous versions never had

startup entries can be disabled from within mbams gui

the startup entries are related to the service part of it i believe, and linked with the right click context menu option of "scan for malware" .... it needs at least part running in the back ground for this menu option to work right, or it would take ages to open up when you want to scan something

the issue is that the ones that do never get enough donations to make it worth while!
so when some big co comes along with a few grand and an offer for the programmer, they kinda can't refuse!
