You ask for sexual favours at the bakers. How very odd.

Tea cakes? They're the small round things containing fruit which you have for breakfast. what is wrong with you people?

Barm? new to me.

I find it odd that people gave you looks when you asked for a bread bun. It isn't difficult to figure out what you're saying. People need to get over themselves and accept that we don't use the same term for everything as they may do where "you" live.

Having worked all over the country it's easier to ask for a sandwich now

The confusion of the barm, bap, bun, butty, teacake isn't worth it.

+1 for Muffin - you have oven bottom muffins you see, and they are totally OMNOMNOMNOM

Hate the term Barm/ Barm Cake *shudders* just doesn't make any sense

Teacake > Currant Teacake
Butty > sandwich (that would have worked)
Bread Roll > little bread roll that you would have with soup

Saying anything bad about Tunnocks teacakes is almost on a par with knocking David Attenborough or Stephen Hawking. Its just not done.

Barm here too in Warrington.

"Can I have a chip barm please" you would say in the local chip shop.
