Spec me a PC £800

In need of a new PC for gaming, 3ds Max, light building for levels, generally high intensive use. I've had some bad luck with power surges, I'd like to invest in some surge protection too.

I have a large coolermaster case, 80gb ssd, 1TB HDD, already, don't need periphials either. If ssd's have come down in price might be worth getting another.

Budget: £800

Go with a X99 system 5820k, SSD's are cheap now.

X99 would be preferable, but your budget won't quite allow for that.

Hello people, would there be any other suggestions, i had to delay the buy due to unexpected circumstances, I'm going to be buying a new setup now.

Well you can discount the Radeon 380X and GTX 970 cards. For the same sort of money you could get the new RX480 or GTX1060. Both cards are of similar performance (GTX1060 slightly better) although the 480 will likely be a bit cheaper and will be a bit more future proof with the larger 8GB memory and likely better utilisation of DX12 and Vulcan APIs.

Would anyone have any feedback on this?

Could get away with a cheaper 550w PSU, rest looks fine.

I would avoid the reference RX 480. The Sapphire Nitro would be your best option when it comes in stock, or you could also wait for a non reference GTX 1060 for the same price if you want Nvidia.
