Change from RAID to AHCI?

I've recently upgraded my PC from 2*WD 640GB RAID 0 o a Samsung 850 Evo SSD, and at the same time completed a clean install of Windows 10 (from Windows 7).

After I installed the Samsung Magician software it displayed a message stating AHCI is not enabled hence some features are not available.

I also have two WD Green 1TB drives in RAID 1 for storage/backup.

If I change the settings in the BIOS from RAID to AHCI, will I loose my RAID array or will it carry on as normal?

Note: I'm aware of the registry changes I'll have to do in Win 10 prior to changing to AHCI.

No, you will lose the array I am afraid.

Some motherboards do have more than one controler however.

It may be possible to do some adjusting and have the booting drive using AHCI on one controler and the other drives in the RAID arrays on the other, or even buying a PCI card to add more RAID controlers, but if you are just using that one, then no, simply changing the RAID to AHCI will stop the drives from working as a RAID array.
