Gigabyte Z170X Ultra Gaming CPU fan issue

Hi all,

Just installed my Gigabyte Z170X Ultra Gaming motherboard, and plugged in my Thermalright Silver Arrow CPU cooler fans into the CPU and CPU OPT Pump fan headers (the only two other than the 3 SYS fan headers).

The one plugged into the CPU header is fine, but the fan in the CPU OPT Pump header doesn't spin at all. There's a curve set for it in the BIOS, and in the System Information Viewer software, but it shows the speed as 0 and the fan indeed isn't spinning at all.

What am I doing wrong? Bit confused about the whole "CPU OPT Pump" labelling on the other header, every motherboard I've had before has just had two normal CPU headers.

Guessing the 'CPU OPT Pump' isn't meant to be used for my fans and I need to get a splitter and just use the 'CPU' header for both fans?

Is the fan header on the plug correctly~? your not "one pin" out of alignment?

If thats ok then click on "calibrate" in SIV and see if that helps.

Yep its on correctly.

And did the calibration on SIV which made the case fan that wasnt working suddenly work but CPU fan still doing nothing.
