If it's close to the rx 470 you can guarantee it'll be more like £175 upwards. That's the performance level they should be aiming for anyway so in my mind it'll have the price to match.

Edit:
Mind you I forgot about the special gtx 1060 3GB with it's gimped cores, maybe that is the rx 470 competitor.

I think Dave meant buy an NVidia product. Much as I like AMD and almost all of my cards have been AMD, if you want the fastest graphics card in the world, only NVidia offer that right now.

I hope that changes, because it needs to for the sake of pricing.

Indeed. NVIDIA offer the fastest card at every price point, well they will once this 1050 is released.

AMD are competitive with the RX480 though, which is a good thing for everyone. I just wish they had released a RX490 that was competitive with the 1070/1080, as it would have meant much better prices for everyone involved.

This would have meant that instead of paying 360 quid for a 1070, had their been some form of competition, I might've paid 280-300.

I've had some brilliant AMD cards, 9800Pro, 4850, 5850, 290, all from when AMD were far more competitive. I seem to remember card prices being far more reasonable back then than they are nowadays.

GTX 1050 spec leaked!

GP107 has 2 time bigger ROPs, fewer shader cores, larger TMUs, higher pixel and texture fillrate than RX 460 while it used same TDP, memory bus, bandwidth and FP32 TFLOPs.

Look like GTX 1050 will be absolutely amazing tiny monster chip, RX 460 killer competitor and performance close to RX 470, GTX 1050 pixel fillrate is 42.1 GPixel/s which is higher than RX 470's 38.6 GPixel/s. It will be very interesting to see how good it OC if it can reach maximum performance close to GTX 970 like Nvidia did impressive engineering job with GTX 950LP pushed maximum OC performance close to GTX 960 used same 75W TDP without 1x6 pin power connector.

Well it seemed AMD has lost mainstream market and Nvidia got a winner pulled out the ace cards in the end with GP107 and completed covered all bases top to bottom Pascal product line.

Not impressed by those clockspeeds, very poor for a tiny chip.

Yeah looks pretty anemic. Is this the answer to the RX460, that card I have seen as low as £97. I imagine the GTX 1050 will come in at closer to £150 :p

Oh well it's not all bad, grabbed a GTX 1070 for £350. I can live with that price for a Titan X (Maxwell) level card.

This pricing hikery is scary on the whole though 0.0

why would it hav 4gb when the 1060 has 3 or 6?

Well, if it is true. It's just a higher clocked 950 with 4Gb of Vram. As is: not impressive at all.
