Headphones for a busy office? AKG Y50?

Hi guys,

With a colleague borrowing and breaking my Klipsch image one (ii) headphones that were previously my office go to set i now need a new set of headphones for a fairly noisy open office. I have read some good things about the Y50 but what do you think? These will primarily be plugged into my nexus 6 for spotiry and occasionally directly into the computer. Would the Y50 sound okay or is there a better alternative for sub £100?

I mostly listen to Rock and Metal.

The Y50 look like a decent inexpensive choice. They get good comments and are well made. Given the last pair got broken, surely it's better to spend £50 rather than £100 if work colleagues can get hold of them.

Busy office? Might be better off with some noise cancelling ones - Goldring NS1000

The Goldrings are good sounding headphones but with poor build quality / materials, so won't last long in a work environment.

Bit over budget but the I use my HD-25 in the office. Fairly easy to drive from a pc, not sure what the nexus is like. Either way a fiio is a cheap purchase. Closed back so won't offend your coworkers and they're bombproof.

Audio-Technica ATH-M40X but might be worth stretching £5 to the Sony MDR-100AAP

Use them wired in and noise cancelling.

I've got the AKG-Y50 and I'm very impressed with them. Good value for money.
