Is 144hz @ 1080p very much a case of you need to spend £250+ to get a decent monitor that doesn't suffer from horrendous washing out of colors and other such issues?

Or are there actually some decent monitors around the £200 mark. I have a Nvidia GPU, so A-sync probably wouldn't make much sense (if it costs extra).

Thanks.

Look into Viewsonic XG2401. It's the best 24'' 1080 144hz monitor available even if you can't make use of freesync. Personally I'm using a BenQ XL2430T atm and I can say I'm super happy with it and have no complaints. But, are you sure you want 144hz?

Eizo FG2421 will destory the XG2401 but you could get a bad panel but i will maintain it is still the best 16:9 monitor out there bar the Dell OLED. 120hz 1080p ULMB style strobing and it holds the record on monitor contrast at 5000:1 versus i bet 1000:1 tops the rest come out at i believe 1100-1200 is the next best score which just shows you how good it is.

It will be £350 and u must forgo all kinds of sync be it free or G sync for the anti blur strobing. I run mine at 3840x2160 to get over the fact 1080p is not as sharp as it could be and im telling you now its hard to put into words how incredible of an experience it is.

144hz or higher is very much the goal. I am at 1080p 60hz atm, and decided that I'll wait a few years before upgrading to 4k (I don't see the point in 1440p 60hz)

I've found a few for around £200, reviews seem favourable.

The panel I'm using atm is quite old,

This was bought many years ago.

As my current is TN, and all these 144hz panels are TN would I notice much colour difference? I've never used IPS or plasma so don't really know what 'good' colour looks like tbh.
