Guys

I have recently bought a Peugeot 407 2.0Hdi 2006 with 90 000 on the clock. I needed something quick as I had to give a company car back and get a new car. They bent the less than 3 year rule and allowed me to get this as it looks decent.

Anyway, I have already replaced the brake discs and pads all round, rear caliper and front ball joint. To say I am regretting this is an understatement. Now the auto gearbox has started slipping out of drive into neutral. Is this a known problem? Is it expensive????

anything with autoboxes are normally expensive. Could possible be cheap though, my boss had a disco doing the same thing and it was just the linkage needed greasing up.

Things I would check,

1) Open the bonnet, watch the engine as you move into gear, check how much it rocks - may be that the gear linkage is being pulled by the engine rocking on tired mounts

2) Check the gear linkage / cable is adjusted.

3) Change/Check the fluid, if it smells burnt - get it changed
