Dear knowledgeable people of this forum, I come asking for your recommendations regarding the best budget GPU i can by for a budget of £100.

The specs for my ancient rig is as follows - no doubt many will laugh as to how old it is. Having spent money on my laptop, I've alas taken to frugal living. Hence I can't afford to make drastic changes to the rig.

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-750 Processor (8M Cache, 2.66 GHz)
Motherboard: MSI P55-GD65 (MS-7583)
GPU: Sapphire Vapour X AMD Radeon HD 5750 - yes it be old!
Memory: 12GB DDR3

I'm aiming to play recently released games on at least medium settings with fps above 30-60 fps. Right now for games like MGS and GTAIV its a paltry 18-24 fps...

Have recommendations or advice will be appreciated.

My thanks,

L-K-B

If you're buying new, the RX 460 is the answer. If you're willing to look at the used market, you should be able to get yourself a 7970/280X for that sort of money, which is a lot more powerful. Although you'd need a pretty decent PSU for those.

You might also consider an R9 285/380 (exact same GPU) as seen in that video if you can find one within budget. Very similar to the 7970/280X in terms of performance, albeit with less/more VRAM depending on if it's a 2GB/4GB version.
