Hey guys,

I quite literally haven't updated my music library in three years! I don't really go out of my way to find new music any more so was wondering if you could please be so kind as to suggest some?

Here are some of my favourite artists / bands on my phone. As you can see, I'm 26 and no longer down with the cool kids.

Alter Bridge
The Arcade Fire
Armin Van Buuren
Autipilot off
Billy Talent
Blink 182
Civil Wars
Creed
Disturbed
Eminem
Fall out Boy
Fun
GnR
In Flames
Iron Maiden
It Dies Today
Jamie T
The Killers
Korn
Linkin Park
The Lumineers
Marilyn Manson
Muse
Queen
RHCP
Story of the Year
Tool
Trivium

I also really like techno and deep house - DJs such as Steve Lawler, Ben Klock, Nina Kraviz, ZIP, Sven Vath etc

Thanks in advance! Basically, I guess it would be really helpful to know your favourite albums over the past 6 months if none of those bands above are to your tastes.

If you like RHCP, then try John Frusciante. His albums are nothing like those of his former band, but he brings elements of that same style of guitar playing into a lot of his tracks.

I'd start with Shadows Collide with People

Then try:
To Record Only Water for Ten Days
The Empyrean
Curtains
The Will to Death
From the Sounds Inside,
etc.

Then you could go on to his drug fuelled first two albums (Niandra and Smile). They are hard to listen to for a first timer, but once you get past the dodgy recording and the sometimes painful vocals, you come to realise it's almost entirely about one man's lonely trip to hell.

They're all completely different to each other, but all special in their own way.

Lmao - I'll give Enslaved a miss :D - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGOHk2J4jV4

Loving Mastodon - just listened to The Motherload - shame the band name is so poor.

Thanks for the rest! Thanks so much everyone else, keep them coming.

No Pink Floyd??

The Wall is the best album ever and anyone who disagrees is objectively wrong.

But it's hard work and... Like.... Deep, man.

Edit - but seriously I have no idea how they even made it. There is just so much detail on every track... The imagination is outstanding.

Wannaaaaa take a baaaaaath???

And then at the end he puts himself on trial within his own head - wut!

Pretty sure I've heard every song on the album but never actually bought it.

Nice to hear from you by the way mate - long time no speak.
