the protected ones wouldn't fit in something designed for a 18650 though would they because they are no longer the right size?

thought they had to use a smaller cell put the protection on then pack it up to the 18650 size?

It varies, some 18650's will not fit in some devices due to being too large. That's why I recommend the unprotected Panasonic 3,400mAh cells, they fit in everything.

Can someone kindly give some opinions on a torch for my old fella.

He's looking for a thrower, good brand that doesn't have to be compact, for up to £200.

Cheers.

Tell us more.

- Thrower with throw adjustment or fixed for long range use?
- Single LED source (spot) or combined (more floody)
- Swappable batteries or integrated pack?

Quick one for you chaps, any recommendations for a small/medium size reliable torch, ideally with firefly, low, mid, high modes and rechargeable (if poss). Looking for under £50 if that's feasible.

Max lumen output doesn't especially matter.

Ta.

I've misplaced my old torch, it was a thing from Aldi, £12.99 I think with a zoom part on it to make it shine big or direct and far.. Can someone recommend me a decent distance torch with a similar feature? It's ideal when walking the dog.
