UK team title race is progressing beyond expectations, we may be seeing a trend now where our PPD crosses the 1 Million mark at the weekends and drops a little mid week.
It's a big task to take the UK title but you have risen to the challenge and then some!
We seem to have a steady flow of new members coming in, this was a surprise. To those people I say thankyou & welcome to the team.
Andy_taximan & Senture maintain thier powerhouse status, they appear to be taking it in turns wearing the PPD Crown but keep an eye on your rear view mirror!

Thanks for the news but I can't really be in 5th place in the Active Contributors (Total & PPD) list can I? Where does the PPD come from because Boinc gives me a daily average of 11455.99. Now I know that's increasing but it's only slowly.

At the time of writing you did have the fifth highest PPD (not RAC), a quick look shows that since that time you been overtaken by Zapp3012 and my goodself - I have started to leave the PC on while I'm at work :)

I use PPD a lot because it reflects whats actually happening right now, with RAC the figures takes weeks to stabilize.
Reading it back I can see what you mean though so I edited the title.
Now stop moaning and get crunching ya slacker :p

UKBoink teams output has been falling all week - are they folding under the pressure?
Their output was around 400k a month ago but that has now fallen to 189k
Even more amazing, our PPD yet again hits a new high -

1,582,938 !!!!!! :cool:

(Graeme appears to have changed his name to Postmanfw)

Everyones contribution has been fantastic but I think it would be unfair (considering the outlay)
not to single out 4 people who's output has gone way beyond the call of duty - Ba, PDW, Andy and Senture - we salute you.
This is why I love Team OcUk, everynow and then it seems to go through a quite patch but poke it with a stick .........and the beast roars
One thing is certain - WE WILL BE NUMBER ONE :D

Thanks very much for the update and the kind words :D. It would appear my Xeon rig at home has either crashed or been turned off :( no contact or work done in over 24 hours now. Not sure when I can get back to restart it but at least I can do some units overnight on my laptop's 780M :)

I'm sure you will do all you can - thanks

Good to hear no lasting damage to such an exotic piece of kit - 2 is still fantastic

Now its funny you should mention that as I was considering the very same thing this morning.
I'm most likely looking at lower level kit than yourself. I'm running a X5660 on a X58 board now
so a move to a dual 1366 board would be my preference.
I have no experience of 2P boards and of the reading I have done so far (and correct me if I am wrong anyone)
here are some of the things I should look out for -
Different mainboard power sockets/requirements?
Different fan headers?
Possible weird form factors
CPU heatsinks - normal LGA1366 jobs?
Then there is server ram
Not that important but would overclocking be possible?
So any tips on ones to avoid would be welcome
If it turns out to be to problematic I'll opt to stay with my current setup & install a 2nd gpu.

Great to see the team going so well but I'm being thick again. I can't find the PPD anywhere again. I'm sure I found it a few days ago but not any longer :(

Missed me ;)

2015-12-01 pnutty 500,000

Suddenly there was a puff of smoke and ...........:D

Congrats to Ba for taking number 1 spot ,im sticking to 1 pc for now tho still lol

PDW has the top spot for PPD, his and Ba's output is extraordinary (there is not much in it) :cool: and 1 pc of yours is just fine.

Dunno mate, I've just got a Mac Pro with dual Xeon 1366's in it :D

Crossed lines on my part, no matter, onwards & upwards :o

Have you all noticed the new guy, Postmanfw, he's 4th on PPD already :D, Senture's knocked me down a place and I have
Zapp, Pnutty & kolala all bitting my ppd butt - awesome I think :confused: :D

Up until now I have not mentioned how long it will take to claim the UK number one spot.
This was deliberate, I worried early on as 1 person almost spelt it out, thankfully they did not.
Why, well at the beginning it did look a duanting task and I worried that people would not engage.
I know we can do it if people just stay the course.
So for the first time, reluctantly, I'm going to lay the facts bare, based on thier PPD remaing unchanged -

In 100 days based on our ppd of 1,000,000

1.UKBoink = 459415819
2.OcUK = 436403371

In 100 days based on our ppd of 1,200,000

1.UKBoink = 459415819
2.OcUK = 456403371

In 100 days based on our ppd of 1,250,000

1.OcUK = 461403371
2.UKBoink = 459415819

At the moment our PPD is in the region of 1,200,000 to 1,500,000 per day but it is beyond expection for it to remain so high

The foot soldiers are very important here to take some pressure off our heavy hitters, its a bit of an ask for them to maintain
thier output levels for 100 days. So to the other members (myself included) we need your very best for as long as you can.

Once we take the title we can lower the PPD considerably, most likely we can retain it without the assistance of the big hitters completely.

So there you have it, its upto you how fast we make this happen - anything worth having isn't easy

All the contributors will have thier usernames listed on the official Einstein Team page as being part of this awesome event and I will also create
personlised certificates which will be sent to your Boinc Einstein email address (so you dont have to be a forum member to be involved)..
