Okay here, on my lowly 780ti.

I did have to update my driver to stop it crashing at launch though.

I sorted it.

Turns out I had my desktop set to duplicate when I went on my tv so it was pretty much rendering the game twice :\. Changed to single screen and locked 60fps throughout.

Made some good progress in the underground tonight. Got a 3 piece nomad and a few high end weapons. Going to test them out tomorrow

I know played the PTR etc. Just saying the changes are nice but game needs more content to keep me bothered

+1

Atleast someone gets it. ;)

It's not that the changes in 1.4 are bad as they benefit solo & casual players but what kept me interested was the challenge presented by the difficulty and excitement from getting decent/useful gearset drops.

When Momo, Def, Gamble and I were in DZ5/6 Farming 9/10 times PVP battles would be won. Only time we'd lose is if the server all decided to kill us or fatigue. :p Multi groups and Hackers not included

I remember watching the time Rad, Def, Momo and Gamble repeatedly killed popular Streamers who think they were Gods and only show selective gameplay in their montages and then call out hackusations.

It just goes to show that when they meet competent players their so called Solo builds are ****. lol The other week we came across members of the FAP clan who were multi-grouping which goes to show how desperate these players are and trash talk that we use smart cover when:

a) They Multi Group
b) They use incendiary rounds

I marvel at how these guys think for themselves outside of Reddit and Youtube guides.

1.3 for groups wasn't difficult, Defi and I managed to do the 4HM farm on our own. Yes the NPCs were tough in Heroic missions and DZ but they also at times benefited you for PVP as you could use them to your advantage.

The QoL, Gameplay balance, increase in loot in 1.4 is good but for those of us who have been playing the content from the start without taking a hiatus are kind of bored and need space to accommodate our builds. So for me personally I am waiting for Survival and 1.5 which I pray fixes DZ Multi Groups, Hackers and brings more QoL changes.

I was submitting hack reports every other day for the past week for players in DZ and believe it or not from players 4HM Farming. So they need to get on top of this because Extropy is getting updated for 1.4

-Please. Update 1.4

-I'll have an update out as soon as I can, 2 days tops as I still have to download the game.

- +Resp keep doing what you doing , im counting on you

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Content and Challenge keeps me playing rather than playing a game because it is now easy.

whats not to get, new content would be amazing.

but...

TTK was broken, I did CM warrengate final section without having to run back to the ammo box several times last night.

NPC damage was broken, hooray no more one shot sniper shotguns.

solo play was broken, chances to get good loot solo was pretty much nill.

was this patch going to benfit everyone? probably not if you had a good group with close to god roll gear.

PVP has not been touched either, yes it has had knock on effects from other changes but specific PVP has not changed. if i heard right they are monitoring the meta for some possible tweeks.

Played last night, I have no idea what now constitutes a good build. 300k, 260k, 80k, 25% crit chance, +90 damage, 46% armour on tier four. The darkzone is fantastically easy, whereas Lexington challenge mode is still tough. The ability to buy green caches at 100px a pop seems like an odd design choice. I bought 20 last night and now have pretty much everything I need.

Or when I had a bit too much to drink and couldn't aim properly lol!

CHD is a bit **** now unfortunately, but HS damage is good. As is DTE and EAD.

The same formula applies for a DPS orientated build that is quite strong:

Unlock weapon talents - 3900 FA or thereabouts
Put rest into stamina and armour

I have around 58% armour minimum on all my builds so far which suits me for solo play, group play and PVP.

I am using Specialised backpack though to give me SP I would normally get from having one item rolled towards electronics as well to allow for stamina stacking.

You still don't get it. The game is now shallow as ever with no real depth.

Easier to get loot. Easier end game. Not much content and existing content is boring. Games all about loot so once you get it all as you have since min maxing is also very easy where do you do from there?

I know people who had 50 million normal credits and around 18 million DZ credits and from purchasing sealed caches they had complete builds all without playing anything.

You have already stated how you can easily beat the so called eggspert youtubers Twirly, so you are clearly a tidy player but someone like me and others enjoy the level of difficulty and solo play features. I like how the game is now and sure it isn't going to please everyone but I feel the content is enough to keep me going til the 1.5 patch.

Not a dig btw, just that maybe you want harder and not all of us do.

I'm still to find any of the roaming boss npc's. Were they even introduced with 1.4?

Had a good session with Mario last night, Jedi and Boomerang both joined for a bit too, smashed out a few HVT, and done a supply drop and boss run. Was good fun and got 4 pieces of AB and aload of weapons, need to get a specialised yellow backpack now, and roll armour on my gear as im about 46% i think, that should help no end i feel.

Then it becomes a quest for better weapons and better rolled gear, but its a really good base start.

Overall i like the difficulty now, i tried a challenge mode single length UG mission and failed near the end, mostly due to my own mistakes, definitely felt doable if i played right, now i have better gear i will try again, i still feel the wrong move will punish me but i feel a bit more confident in my gear to handle it.

Well happy with 1.4 definitely the right direction the game needed to go, i havent even logged into a PC game for a couple of weeks, as i was catching up on series of Walking Dead, but loaded this up last night saying to myself if its gash i will go back to watching Walking Dead, but was really amazed at how much better it feels now, it feels like you are rewarded for your investment of time, prior to 1.4 you felt like you was wasting your time.

This is very important. I'm sure all of us have had instances of battling for 30, 40, 50 minutes only to leave with absolutely nothing. Very frustrating and has been mostly addressed in 1.4. Outside incursions, we're getting a veritable loot avalanche (and caches!) for going about our business, which can only be a good thing.

Roaming the DZ is a no go now, gank squad after gank squad :(

Loot rewards in the PvE world are a lot better though.

I found the DZ ok. Didn't encounter any gank squads, although at one point a group of four players ran up to me and started saying things in Russian. It sounded very angry. Such a lovely language...I ran to the exit. I think I was lucky tbh.

Well if the aim of the game to those players is getting perfect gear and they choose to use the resources stocked up rather than play then they only have themselves to blame.

The game is in a far better state now as I can jump in with a mate and still get a decent amount done.

Old gear is retroactively altered to take into account 1.4 changes, but the stat amounts (as in, number of bonuses) are different and old gear lacks the mod slots of newer drops. I'm toying with selling everything and starting from scratch with 1.4-only gear.

Wise and cleansing, or stupid and wasteful?

The aim for this patch was to fix solo play and reduce the gap between the lower end of gear rolls and the max - which they successfully did :) I believe This was a fundamental requirement to build of off for future DLC, more world tiers, more difficulty and so on as the difficulty mainly will be able to progress in a correct and progressive manner.

Do they need more difficulty? Damn right they do, but that wasn't the intention of this patch.

Do they need more content? Hell yeah, but I don't think the game would have survived to Survival to combine this patch + new content.

Was I salty when I saw the state of my gear that I had spent so much time grinding the hardest 1.3 content on? A lil bit but I looked past it and carried on. (with the exception of my bae Deadeye - I hate massive for what they did to it lol!! )

I am a fence sitter with this patch, I see the solo dudes and people who cant spend much time on the games point of view, and I also see the hardcore players point of view but I am sticking with my opinion - this was a good patch and was needed.

However I do think they need to act fast. They need to plug in one more world tier at least, add back in heroic mode to missions but just give a higher quantity reward for completion of these tasks - not better gear or else we may as well be back in 1.3. This would bridge the gap to survival, and would give people more reason to focus on min maxxing, group synergy and tactics.
