Hey guys. Just got back from ISERIES #58. Had a blast. However carrying my large full tower, monitor and camping equipment made me cry so looking to switch my current build into a smaller case as I plan on going to a few more in the future.

A few hurdles though as I have quite a bit of gear. Here is a list of my current build:

  • Zotac GeForce GTX 980Ti AMP Extreme Edition
  • Intel Core i5-6600K 3.9GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor
  • MSI Z170A Gaming M7 Intel Z170 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
  • Corsair Hydro H90 140mm High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
  • Kingston Savage Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C12 2400MHz
  • EVGA SuperNova G2 1000W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply
  • Kingston SSD 240GB- SV300
  • WD 1TB 3.5" SATA-III 6Gb/s Caviar Black Hard Drive - 7200rpm 64MB Cache x2
  • WD 3 TB Desktop SATA Hard Drive - Green
  • Pioneer BDR-207EBK 12x Blu-Ray Writer Drive
  • Lamptron FC5 V2 5.25" Bay Fan Controller - Black
  • Coolermaster HAF X Case Black
Text that is Stroked out (Stroked) are components I'm happy to drop.

I would like to switch down to as small case as a 980ti would allow. Although this could present a challenge with 4 hard drives and without purchasing a new motherboard.

Any solution is welcome. I'm more fishing to see what the cost would be and if it is worth doing it or just sucking it up and sitting with the Full Tower until I upgrade my CPU again.
