Building a friends machine and looking to spend no more then £100 on 450-500GB SSD, one that has come to mind is a "SanDisk SDSSDHII-480G-G25 Ultra II" but to be honest i have not looked at SSD for over 12 months so have no idea what's best chip/controller wise etc

I know i'm asking a lot at £100 but want to get the best i can for him

I know you said you dont want to go over £100 but i would get this.

I have 2 x 250GB 850s drives and never had any issues with them at all, not much more than your budget.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £122.69
(includes shipping: £8.70)

Shows delivery costs as well (£8.70) so not too sure if you get free delivery or able to go collect it

Having a gander you can get a Kingston uv400, Kingston hyperx fury, SanDisk ssd plus, SanDisk ultra II, OCZ ARC 100, Toshiba q300, Adata SP550 or an integral P series 480GB drives for less than one hundred notes.

Only one I have experience with is the ssd plus which is very fast, just as fast as my Samsung drives. Honestly most people cannot tell the difference between using 2 different ssds so I would pick one with good warranty and go from there.

Thanks guys gone for the SanDisk ultra II, as you say i doubt if they will tell any difference between and anything over a spinner is going to blow them away.

Sorry to hijack the thread slightly but it didn't seem worth creating a whole new one. I currently have a SanDisk X300 512GB Enterprise Class SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps Solid State Drive. I also have a stupid amount of Steam games so this is virtually full. Unfortunately OCUK seem to have discontinued the drive so which would be the most similar one to get for a budget of around £120?

Thanks in advance
