Am I nuts or, did the slow puncture maybe sound like an excuse? He was clearly ignoring warnings, the team were clearly worried about it. As they can't actually say drive less badly to save your tires as it's coaching, instead they tell him he has a puncture to get him to pit onto new rubber presuming one of the warnings was high tire temps?

If the telemetry didn't show a slow puncture then this would be a serious offence. I can't see Mercedes risking that.
