GTX 670 vs gtx 970

I am thinking about getting a gtx 970 but is it worth it over the 670 which I already have?

my specs
i2500k @ 4.5 running at full whack 1.3v
8GB corsair dominator
asus sabertooth z77
seasonic g series 650w
24" 1080p monitor
2 SSDs
1 Hdd

I went from Sli 670s to a 390 which is similar performance to the 970 and have been really pleased with the switch.

Only issue with the 970 is there are some games that might be limited by the ram so worth keeping it in mind. Ie shadow of mordor ultra needs 6gb vram

It's black friday, I'd be going for a 980 not a 970 if I saw a good deal. The 970 is good, but a few more cores and all 4GB of VRAM fully working make it a better card. A 980 should be ~ 2x the speed of a 670.

Thanks both.

I am a bit of a stickler when it comes to brands I always choose intel for CPUs and always choose Asus for GPUs and motherboards. Corsair or Gskill for RAM and never ever water cool and always overclock.

Unless my pay on Saturday is bigger than expected I can't really stretch to a 980 even with the drops in price.
