Hi guys question. Got some DD4 3000mhz memory that I'm not using. My mate has a board that only supports 2133mhz DDR4, he's currently using 8gb at that speed. If we throw in the 3000mhz, will the motherboard work it out and just down clock it to 2133mhz?

Something I've never come across or thought about, I'm always over clocking up not down clocking lol. Might be a nice upgrade for him going to 16gb.
