Easy all. i just recently purchased Crashplan to back up my Data the Data im backing up is films music and photo's it currently Says it will take over 2 years to back up 2.9 TB of data if its going to take that long i could have drive failures is that the length offsite takes to back up

Exclude anything non-essential from the backup for the time being. Once the essential stuff has been backed up, start adding the less-essential data.

I wouldn't backup your videos, unless they are home movies. It'll take too long, you've seen that!

I would purchase a small NAS that can have a mirrored disk setup (raid name forgotten) and backup those large videos using that!

You could always have a third copy that you only backup to once a week or so and keep that in a fire proof safe or at someone elses home...

Surely you knew this would happen?

As above, just backup your photos. If you want copies of other things, buy a NAS. Synology make awesome NAS devices, coupled with WD Red drives.
