SM951 Read / Write performance on Asus ROG Maximus VIII

I just built a new with the two components as per the title and think the SM951 is running slower than it should be. I have read speeds of around 1500 and write speeds of 550-650 or so. Is this right? I utterly clueless when it comes to these M2 drives so unsure what it should be at, but advertised speeds are more than this?

Which SSD did you buy? for example,

Both Samsung951, both NVME, Both 512GB, but ones much faster than the other, the same is true for the 256Gb etc versions, theres two of each.

Not counting the AHCI versions which are older tech.

If it's you SM951 then you should be scoring higher. There's both a NVMe and a AHCI version of the SM591 but they're both near identical in speed. The PM591 is considerably slower.

This is roughly what you should be scoring with the SM951...




If you're not getting that then make sure you have all your motherboard drivers installed and the latest BIOS.

Thanks for the replies. Turns out I am an idiot and it is the PM951 I have and not the SM, so the speeds I am getting are fine.
