Hi, my son wants a gaming PC for his birthday and im willing to spend around £600. I am totally confused with all the options available and would like to get the best possible combination for my money. If anyone could make some recommendations it would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks.

i don't mind putting one together if its better value, not to bothered about windows i might just use linux or transfer a windows licence;). Not looking for a monitor at the moment either probably get a new one at a later date.

Really just want to make sure i get the most for money and don't need to upgrade parts 6 months down the line, thanks for your time.

All that seems great thanks. Just 1 question in terms of performance how would machine hold up when playing the latest games?

At 1080p with mid detail it will hold up well so if you want ultra details you need at least a 970, but i think with the i-5 ( which will last for years ) is a well balanced set up.
