**SILENT WINGS 3 HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED**

Be Quiet have finally released the Silent wings 3 after announcing that they were looking at improving the Silent Wings 2 which was a very successful fan. The Silent Wings 3 has had a couple of design tweaks and comes in 4 different types including Non PWM, PWM and High Speed of both models. They are also available in the 120mm and 140mm.

The variety offers you different types of cooling with the non PWM and PWM for cases and CPU coolers and the High speed have the added option of adding them to your water cooling loop to improve those temps with some of the quietest fans on the market.

The mounting system on these look really good. Going by the product description and design, are these designed more for case airflow than radiator cooling?

The High Speed ones are designed more for Radiators but can still be used for case fans. The normal PWM and non PWM are you case fans really.

Am looking for some new case fans, these look good!

I only have voltage controlled headers on my Mobo so would the PWM variants still work?

I am ready to post the review of the first fan- the 120mm non high speed- but waiting on be quiet! to get back to me about this:



Excuse the typo, it is Silent Wings 3 and not 2. Massive drop in RPM going from 100% PWM to 99% PWM to 95% PWM. Doesn't match their RPM to PWM curve in their website either. Both fans did the exact same here. Overall performance is nice, better than Silent Wings 2 in terms of airflow through radiator at similar/lower noise levels. It won't break any performance records, but noise prioritizing customers will love these.

Hey guys, first post here. Currently in the market for the SW3, and have found two reviews on YT of the SW3, one of them is favorable:


But the other one compares the noise of the SW3 to the SW2 and finds that the SW3 actually emits a high pitch noise which is absent from the SW2. Comparing the two the SW3 seems to be worse in terms of noise than the previous SW2:


Have you encountered this noise, vsg28? According to the comments Be Quiet! are aware of this and are "looking into it" whatever that means.

Not really, I used voltage control and PWM control on the fans accordingly and the tested ones were perfect. Still others left to test though, so I will check hard for this.

I am definitely curious to know if others have had the PWM issue I saw, or if I just happened to get 2 from a bad batch.

Sorry to double post, but warning to those who want to use these PWM fans with the Aquacomputer Aquaero 6- looks like there's a bug on the controller that is causing the massive RPM drops I saw. be quiet! is working with Aquacomputer to see what the issue is.

Im currently in the market for a pair of 120mm fans to replace the 200mm fan in the front of my Phanteks Enthoo Pro.

Would be cool though if BQ did these in white to go with my case
