Asus Maximus VIII Q code 99

Evening folks,

I've finally completed my build but when I boot up I'm getting no signal to the monitor and Q code 99 On the mobo. Has anyone got any suggestions? I've removed the GPU, reseated the mono power (both of them) removed the CPU (no bent pins). I've cleared the CMOS using the button on the motherboard and removed the battery and PSU cable also. I'm at a bit of a loss here. Can anyone help? Is a BIOS flash needed? System spec below:

Asus Maximus VIII
Intel i7 6700K
GTX 1080 (disconnected)
Corsair vengeance 16Gb 3000mhz (1 x 8Gb for now)

No OS installed yet.

EDIT: have plugged the GPU back in and now getting code b6. Any ideas. The Manual isn't being much help and I can't get much from t'internet

Remove the Gpu and attempt boot via the onboard gpu, if it boots update to the latest bios and try installing the 1070 again.

Hi, tried removing the GPU and using the mobo HDMI socket but still no luck... perservered for another day until I realised it was an ID-10-T Error...

...Turns out the HDMI lead that was plugged into the back of the monitor was hooked up to my Xbox and the one in the PC was connected to the DVD player. I'm not sure whether to be annoyed or embarassed to be honest!
