Looking to build a new Rig seeing as my old gaming machine is now 6years old and showing its age now.

I really like the idea of a Mini-ITX machine, and I would love to pack it as powerful as I can, but as small as I can (Node 202 looks appealing).

The parts list cost comes in JUST under budget (£1800), and is right about what i want - tiny form factor, big performance.

Was wondering if you know of any improvements/problems i might encounter (or better suited cases) given what i am trying to build?

Parts list so far:

Intel Core i7 6700K,

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Mini ITX

Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5, Intel Z170, S 1151,

1TB Samsung SM961 NVMe, MLC V-NAND, M.2 SSD

700W Silverstone SFX-L Series SST-SX700-LPT,

Fractal Design Node 202

32GB (2x16GB) Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Red, PC4-21300

Corsair H90 Hydro Series CPU Cooler,

120mm Noctua NF-F12 PWM Focused Flow (x 3)

cant see this fitting Corsair H90 Hydro Series CPU Cooler,
nor 3 fans 120mm Noctua NF-F12 PWM Focused Flow (x 3)
probably dont need 700w psu, 550 is good enough
16gb ram should also be plenty

You are quite right, the H90 will not fit, thanks for the spot!, will swap out for a H75

The 3 Noctura Fans were to go in the GPU cage and above the CPU. I thought with 56mm of clearance for the CPU and 50mm Clearance for the GPU there was enough space (i was removing the corsair fan from the H75 due to complaints about it being noisy)

It was between the 700w listed and the 500W Silverstone SX500-LG, because i liked the SFF with 120mm fan for a PSU. I went for the beefier PSU because i thought 500w fell just short.

As for the RAM, i was going for that as a part of an all round upgrade from my current rig. I have 16gb of DDR3 RAM in there at the moment (also Corsair, 2000mhz) which i could transplant to the new build.

That case you listed looks quite nice, going to take a closer look.

Thanks again,

Z

You won't get an AIO in the Node 202, nor do you need a 700W PSU for a GTX 1070 - I'm running an original GTX Titan with a gold-rated 450W PSU. Also, I'm not sure the Node 202 would fit the SFX-L PSU anyway.

I also don't think you'll get fans under the GPU either, but if you do build in the Node 202 then you can always measure up and see - There are 12mm and 15mm thick 120mm fans you could squeeze in if you really want direct airflow onto the GPU.
