I cant see the price coming down much/at all in the next few months for 10xx laptops if im honest (except for maybe black friday) last gen laptops held and are still mostly holding there value still.

only reason to hold out would be to see if there are any issues reported on these new models such as throttling and heating issues QC etc.

Razor has just announced that their new RazorBlade will have a 1060. That kind of highlights were this chip is sitting. It's not entry level like a 960m was, it's far higher than that with a price point to match.

I see. I thought the mobile chips were more or less the same as the desktops, just downclocked a bit.

The new 10x series laptops are the same as the desktop equivalents! No cut down "m" series this gen. In fact the 1060 is on par with the 980 DESKTOP card, which is much more powerful than the 980m from last gen.

The new Alienware 13 is now available in the uk, given it has a sub 1080p display i was expecting about a £1000, making it the cheapest 1060 laptop around, sadly it's £1249. At £1000 I would have got that and stuck another 1tb ssd in. Ah well
