I'm no Hamilton fan but there is no way he should have been penalised. Had there NOT have been a VSC/SC then it probably would have been looked at as he was out of sight but the VSC/SC basically reset the race back to where it should have been anyway.

The primary reason Hamilton didn't get penalised is because the data from his car showed him lifting and falling back towards the pack. Brundle talks about it in his post-race column on Sky Sports.

Whether people agree with their decision or not is ultimately pointless because what's done is done. If the rule-makers think it's a big enough issue, they'll either change the rule about backing off to be more strict or they'll stop giving leeway for first lap incidents.

Auto Motor und Sport have just released the full uncut radio dialogue from the last few laps, makes for very amusing reading! :D

I can't like on here as it's full of swears.
Makes for an interesting read. It seems most of Vettel's frustration was because Ferrari pre-emptively (and stupidly) told him that Verstappen had been told by the FIA to move over (which he wasn't).
