The news is coming from HardOCP boss Kyle Bennett, who wrote on the HardOCP forums: "The licensing deal between AMD and Intel is signed and done for putting AMD GPU tech into Intel's iGPU". Bennett continued, saying that "Intel in no way wants this to be public", but that's kind of hard on a public forum - and now, here with this post.

Its worth noting that intel have not announced this but if true this will give AMD a cash injection.

Oh dear, there goes AMDs trump card of relatively strong integrated graphics in laptops. Why would you buy an AMD *no idea what model numbers we're on these days* if you can get sinilar solid GPU tech in the better Intel CPU?

I would have thought however that Intel's integrated graphics are good enough for every day tasks though. Will your average laptop consumer notice?

Reading between the lines and the hard forum posts, it's more about cross licencing ip, so that Intel don't have to worry about infringing on the many patents owned by amd and nvidia that make it difficult to develop new gpus. Intel had a similar deal with nvidia which has now expired.
