Hey guys

I just bought some corsair vengeance 3200mhz ddr4 along with a asus gaming pro 170 board. When booted the memory is only running at 2133mhz, ive also got a 6600k cpu, now if I change the frequency to 3200mhz, is this going to overclock the cpu also??

Thanks guys...... its this new bios I cant get my head round it

2133MHz is the industry standard speed for stock DDR4 RAM.

If you set the RAM XMP profile in the BIOS to 3200MHz it will set the RAM to 3200MHz but keep the CPU at stock because 3200MHz doesn't require a CPU strap ratio.

My RAM is set to 3000MHz, but in my case (on X99), the CPU strap is at 1.25 which means my BCLK is at 125MHz not 100MHz and the CPU is overclocked as a result.
