Hyper X Cloud 2 vs Mobo

Silly question perhaps

I have the Z170 pro gaming mobo and Cloud 2 headset. Both can do 7.1.

Should i just use the mobo 7.1 plugging in directly or as i do currently just the cloud 2 usb. Any difference or both the same?

Guess i will try it both ways just wondered if anyone knew?
