Thanks for the news Dekez and happy new year to all :)

I don't fold yet but do keep a keen eye on this sub section. How are ocuk getting on now in the FAH league? Any stomps on the horizon or are we getting stomped? Last i heard we were 30th or so but that was a very long time ago and i can't even remember if that was right, just sounds around about there!

So looks like I'll be back home (for good or until I find a job) around the 21st Jan. I'll try do what I can to help out but saving money is the order of the day.

I got one piece of good news though, I was an original Kickstarter backer for Oculus Rift, so I got an email telling me I'm getting a Kickstater Backer retail version for free with two games.
I'm well made up as I wasn't going to pre-order one until I found a new job, totally unexpected. :D

Nice surprise, something to do whilst writing job applications :D Best of luck with that though, hope you find something quick.

We are 25th

Next stomp 1.2 years away.

We will be stomped by 5 other teams during that period.

:o thanks

Jeez better do something about this stomping malarky then. So presuming theoretically our current output stays the same, how many extra ppd would we need to prevent getting stomped by those 5 others?

And how many ppd would a 6600k OC'd and GTX660 net us?

quite a lot to stop them overtaking but anything we add points wise will slow them down, what you have should net a good few points, i my self have just bought somthing which will increase my output a little, and will try and find another gpu this week to help even more.

You can check here: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=10

If we doubled our output to 6 million we would hold of 3 of the 5 stomps that are heading our way, we would also accelerate the stomps we could do to those above us.

If we tripled out output we would hold of all comers and eventually reach #10 globally and maybe hold out for a little while.

Wow. An interesting read indeed, thankyou. Seems a shame we're due to be stomped and theres nothing my measly gtx660 can do about it! Theres some big names in there though

And Biffa you have huge output! Congrats on that. What do you run out of interest?

And just for abit of fun, lets say i won the lottery and went and bought 12x 8pack supernova systems all with tri-sli 980ti's, apart from a huge leccy bill that i wouldnt care about as im now a millionaire, what could i roughly expect ppd for that lot, and if somebody fancies working it out for me presuming all outputs stay the same what year in the next thousand or so would we get to #1 spot :p just abit of fun :)

Disclaimer: i do solemly swear and promise that if all the numbers come up on the lotto or all the numbers and lucky stars on the euro, i will do this and set it to team 10 for folding :D

forget fancy 8 pack systems, a big ass case with a x99 mb that takes lots of gpus / dual psu's with 6 x 980ti's . all watercooled. 980tis get near 500kppd , get 6 into 1 system and theres 3 million ppd.

as for nothing you can do, there is!. if you fold you wont stop them overtaking but it will help slow them down, have you joined up? if not join up asap and help :D

It all helps, so as ozaudio said, get going :)

I'm running 4 gpu's 970's and 980's on folding@home and a AMD 370 on einstein@home

But I used to run some 48 core Opteron monsters in the past which is where a large chunk of my points come from, that and I've been doing it a long time :)

So join in, make sure you setup a passkey to get the maximum points from your setup and sign up for Team 10!

Most of us do it for the science for one reason or another, but the points are the fun bit. :)
